Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist, where you will play a vital role in promoting oral health and delivering exceptional patient care. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will utilize your expertise to perform thorough dental cleanings, patient assessments, and education while supporting the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort.
Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower them in maintaining healthy smiles.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories within electronic medical record (EMR) system like Eaglesoft.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling sensitive medical information appropriately.
Skills
Proficiency with dental software system such as Eaglesoft for scheduling, documentation review, and record management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques.
Experience in pediatric dentistry and working with pediatric patients to provide gentle, effective care tailored to children’s needs.
Skilled in chairside assisting during general dentistry procedures with a focus on pediatrics when applicable.
Ability to accurately measure vital signs and perform medical imaging procedures with precision.
Familiarity with medical coding and documentation review for billing and insurance purposes.
