Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and the importance of regular dental visits.
Take and record vital signs as necessary during patient assessments.
Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Utilize dental software systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for patient management and record keeping.
Assist in the management of patient flow within the clinic to ensure efficient operations.
Implement aseptic techniques to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to provide optimal patient care.
Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
Requirements
Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
Strong knowledge of anatomy related to oral health and hygiene practices.
Experience in a dental clinic setting preferred, with familiarity in using Dentrix or Eaglesoft software systems considered an asset.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
Ability to take vital signs accurately and respond appropriately to patient needs.
Proficient in aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient education.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining medical records.
