Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by providing thorough dental cleanings, patient education. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health and ensure a positive experience for every patient. Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain and improve patients’ oral health.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to ensure safe treatment planning.
Assist the dentist during examinations.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety protocols are followed.
Educate patients on proper dental care practices, including brushing, flossing, and preventive measures tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
Follow infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control standards to safeguard patient and staff health.
Skills
Proficiency with dental software systems such as OpenDental for documentation review and EHR management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with children in a clinical setting.
Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs.
Familiarity with medical imaging techniques necessary for capturing high-quality dental X-rays.
Understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices aligned with HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
