Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team in an immediate temporary position through January/February 2027. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dental hygiene, patient care, and infection control, with a passion for promoting oral health education. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing professional cleanings, patient assessments, and supporting overall patient well-being while adhering to the highest standards of safety and confidentiality.
Duties
Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to maintain optimal oral health.
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to ensure safe treatment planning.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using appropriate dental imaging techniques while ensuring radiation safety protocols.
Educate patients on proper dental care practices, emphasizing oral hygiene instructions and preventive measures.
Manage electronic health records (EHR) accurately, documenting treatment details and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Maintain infection prevention standards by sterilizing instruments, managing infection control protocols, and ensuring a clean clinical environment.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless workflow using practice management software re: Dentrix.
Skills
Proficiency in dental software systems including Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation review, and record management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while maintaining radiation safety standards.
Excellent communication skills for client interaction and patient education.
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices aligned with HIPAA compliance requirements.
