Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care through thorough dental cleanings, patient education, and preventive treatments. Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent decay and gum disease
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental x-ray equipment, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster lifelong healthy habits
Assist dentists during procedures with chairside assisting, managing dental instruments and materials efficiently
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, documenting treatments and patient interactions clearly
Follow infection prevention protocols by practicing aseptic techniques, sterilizing equipment, and adhering to HIPAA compliance standards for patient confidentiality
Monitor medical imaging results and ensure proper documentation review for comprehensive patient records
Support general dentistry and pediatric dentistry cases by adapting techniques suitable for children and adult patients alike
Manage patient care from check-in to check-out, ensuring a positive experience through excellent communication and client service skills
Experience
Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic setting
Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) management systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Hands-on experience with dental equipment operation, including dental x-ray machines and sterilization tools
Strong understanding of infection prevention management and healthcare infection control practices
Ability to perform dental assisting duties such as chairside assisting during various procedures
Experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable but not required
Excellent communication skills for effective client education and team collaboration
