Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for patient care, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of dental procedures and hygiene practices. Duties
Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to promote optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to ensure comprehensive care.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) accurately while adhering to safety protocols.
Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
Assist with chairside procedures by preparing instruments, maintaining sterilization standards, and supporting the dentist during treatments.
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to document patient information accurately.
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
Valid license as a Dental Hygienist with current certification in dental hygiene practices.
Experience with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Proficiency in taking dental x-rays and understanding of radiation safety standards.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles and working with pediatric patients is advantageous.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental care topics.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality is essential.
Prior experience in general dentistry or dental clinic settings is preferred; familiarity with infection control protocols is required.
