We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene care, educate patients on oral health practices, and assist the dental team in delivering exceptional patient experiences. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health, ensure infection control standards are maintained, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using digital imaging technology, ensuring accuracy and patient safety
Conduct patient assessments by measuring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster lifelong healthy habits
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures with chairside assisting, including handing instruments and managing dental equipment
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
Follow infection prevention protocols by practicing aseptic techniques, sterilizing instruments, and managing infection control procedures in accordance with healthcare standards
Review documentation for accuracy, update medical history forms, and assist with medical coding for billing purposes
Monitor patient comfort throughout appointments and provide compassionate care tailored to pediatric dentistry when working with children
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting
Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments with familiarity using EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and medical terminology relevant to dental care
Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry for efficiency and patient comfort
Expertise in infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards
Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, fostering trust and understanding
Knowledge of medical records management, documentation review, medical coding, and HIPAA compliance regulations
Proficiency in taking dental X-rays (dental x-ray), interpreting images accurately for diagnosis purposes
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining patient confidentiality and managing electronic health records (EHR)
