Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for patient care and oral health education, with expertise in dental hygiene procedures, infection control, and patient assessment. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, assisting with dental procedures, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience through effective communication and clinical excellence.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct oral health assessments by examining patients' teeth, gums, and oral tissues to identify issues requiring further treatment.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including sterilization of dental instruments and maintaining aseptic techniques in the clinical environment.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental cleanings and radiography.
Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and scheduling purposes.
Experience working in general dentistry with a strong understanding of dental terminology and equipment.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles is preferred but not required; experience with pediatric patients is advantageous.
Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including HIPAA compliance management.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about dental care practices.
Prior experience working in a dental office or clinic setting demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail.
