Dental Hygienist

Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to assess patient health status
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort
Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
Capture and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining strict infection control protocols
Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate patient histories and treatment plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Monitor and document patient assessments, medical history updates, and treatment progress using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting
Proven experience in general dentistry with a focus on pediatric dentistry preferred
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques
Familiarity with dental assisting procedures, chairside assisting skills, and medical coding practices
Ability to work efficiently within a team using advanced EMR systems for documentation review and recordkeeping
Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to pediatric patients when applicable
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of all patient information
