Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients while ensuring their comfort and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of dental hygiene practices, infection control, and patient education. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dentist and dental assistants to deliver comprehensive care and maintain a positive patient experience.
Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and the importance of regular dental visits.
Assist in the development of individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Eaglesoft.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe environment.
Collaborate with the dental team to provide four-handed dentistry support during procedures.
Conduct periodontal assessments and apply fluoride treatments as needed.
Utilize medical coding for proper documentation of procedures and treatments.
Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Experience
A valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist is required.
Previous experience in a dental office setting is preferred, with familiarity in general dentistry practices.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards is essential.
Experience with dental assisting duties is a plus, enhancing collaboration within the team.
Proficiency in using Eaglesoft or similar dental management software is advantageous but not mandatory.
