Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering exceptional patient care, maintaining high standards of infection control, and supporting the overall efficiency of our dental team. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical records management, with experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred.
Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to promote optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and vital signs, ensuring comprehensive understanding of patient needs.
Assist with chairside procedures using aseptic techniques and proper infection control protocols.
Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring accurate documentation within EMR systems.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to enhance patient understanding and compliance.
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including medical coding and record updates.
Support pediatric dentistry procedures by providing specialized care tailored to children’s needs.
Collaborate with dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
Keep clinical areas sterile and organized, adhering to infection control standards and aseptic techniques.
Skills
Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices.
Experience in pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, and dental assisting roles is highly desirable.
Ability to perform vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and patient assessment accurately.
Skilled in chairside assisting with a focus on patient comfort and safety during procedures.
Familiarity with EMR systems, documentation review, medical coding, and medical records management.
Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and team collaboration.
Knowledge of aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination during clinical procedures. This position is ideal for a professional committed to providing high-quality dental care in a fast-paced environment while supporting the health and well-being of patients across all age groups.
