Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history, and evaluating oral health status.
Assist with dental procedures using chairside assisting techniques, ensuring smooth workflow during treatments.
Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, digital imaging systems, and other diagnostic tools with precision.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions tailored to pediatric dentistry needs.
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix while reviewing documentation for accuracy.
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Support team members in managing medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and patient care documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate effectively with dentists and other staff to deliver comprehensive general dentistry services in a pediatric-focused setting.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably within pediatric dentistry or general dentistry environments.
Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for electronic health records management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health.
Skilled in chairside assisting techniques, including X-ray procedures and dental equipment operation.
Expertise in infection control practices, including healthcare infection prevention standards and aseptic techniques.
Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration; compassionate approach toward pediatric patients.
Ability to accurately review medical records, perform patient assessments, and document clinical findings thoroughly.
