Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to ensure optimal oral health.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instruction
Maintain accurate and detailed dental records, including documentation review and updates in electronic health records (EHR) in Dentrix.
Follow infection prevention management protocols, ensuring aseptic techniques and compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Monitor and operate dental equipment safely, ensuring all tools are sterilized and maintained according to infection control standards
Qualifications
Valid license or certification as a Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
Proven experience in dental office settings, with familiarity using EMR/EHR systems.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Expertise in dental x-ray techniques, dental imaging, and infection control practices.
Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental care practices.
Demonstrated proficiency in maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards.
