Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent clinical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of dental procedures and protocols. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in maintaining oral health, providing preventive care, and supporting the overall success of our dental practice. Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current oral health status.
Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while maintaining proper infection control and aseptic techniques.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary recommendations for optimal dental health.
Maintain accurate medical records and document treatment plans in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality during all interactions.
Support infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments, managing dental supplies, and adhering to aseptic techniques.
Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, including medical coding when applicable for billing purposes.
Collaborate with team members to deliver comprehensive pediatric dentistry services when necessary, demonstrating knowledge of pediatric-specific procedures.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in the respective jurisdiction.
Proven experience in general dentistry settings with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
Proficiency in using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations, including pediatrics.
Experience performing chairside assisting and utilizing medical imaging equipment efficiently.
Understanding of medical terminology and medical records management for comprehensive patient assessment documentation.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information at all times.
