Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current health status to tailor care plans effectively.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and comfort.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to uphold safety standards.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings preferred; familiarity with pediatric dentistry is a plus.
Proficiency with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation and scheduling.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding practices.
Skilled in chairside assisting, including patient care, patient assessment, and dental equipment operation.
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control measures aligned with OSHA standards.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about dental care and treatment options.
