Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! In this vital role, you will provide exceptional preventive dental care, educate patients on oral health practices, and assist the dental team in delivering comprehensive dental services. Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
Conduct patient assessments by recording, medical history, and current health status.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems like Eaglesoft ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment.
Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as reviewing medical records, documenting treatment notes, and assisting with medical coding.
Ensure compliance with healthcare infection control standards and maintain a safe clinical environment at all times.
Communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry cases, to ensure comfort and understanding throughout their visit.
Experience
Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental clinic or healthcare setting.
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
Experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus, demonstrating comfort working with children and their unique needs.
Familiarity with infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards.
Ability to perform dental x-rays accurately while maintaining patient safety protocols.
Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively about oral health care practices.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
