Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, with expertise in preventive dental services and patient education, and strong dependability skills. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in maintaining oral health by providing comprehensive cleanings, assessments, and support within a professional and welcoming environment. Your proficiency in dental procedures, infection control, and patient communication will ensure exceptional service and promote overall well-being.
Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to prevent oral diseases.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
Conduct chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging), providing injections and applying topical agents.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary considerations, and preventive care strategies.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical history in electronic health record (EHR) using Dentrix software.
Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Support general dentistry procedures through effective chairside assisting and collaboration with the dental team.
Uphold HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing sensitive medical records responsibly.
Qualifications
Valid Oregon state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
Proven experience in dental office settings.
Proficiency in using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards.
Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation review processes.
Ability to perform dentistry procedures with patience and professionalism.
Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and team collaboration.
Strong dependability skills.
