Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by performing thorough dental cleanings, assessments, and education while supporting the overall health and well-being of our patients. Your expertise in dental procedures, infection control, and patient communication will help foster a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and confident in their oral health journey. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative setting dedicated to excellence in general and pediatric dentistry.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) our system is Eaglesoft.
Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment.
Monitor vital signs and recognize signs of medical emergencies or contraindications during appointments.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information at all times.
Prior experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dental practice is preferred.
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and Dental coding is essential.
Experience with chairside assisting, including providing support during various dental procedures, is advantageous.
Familiarity with dental imaging techniques and taking accurate radiographs is required.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient records is mandatory.
