Overview
The dental hygienist works under the supervision of the office manager and dentist. Conducts initial patient screenings, cleans teeth, and advises patients on oral health and preventative care. Collaborates with dentist to determine treatments for teeth or gum disease and handle dental emergencies.
What you will do
Conducts initial patient screenings and maintains knowledge of subject matter to assist Dentist in making treatment decisions for teeth or gum disease.
Cleans and protects patients' teeth by removing plaque and/or applying fluoride.
Maintains a deep knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and a good eye for oral diseases and anomalies. Educates patients of all ages on proper teeth care.
Qualifications
Education
Associates Degree, from a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) approved dental and allied dental education program (Required)
Experience
1 year Recent relevant experience (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
Dental Hygienist - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required)
