Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by performing dental cleanings, assessments, and preventive treatments. Your expertise will help promote optimal oral health and ensure a positive experience for every patient. Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleanings, scaling, and polishing to maintain optimal oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) accurately using dental imaging equipment while adhering to safety standards.
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote long-term health.
Maintain detailed and accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
Follow infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental instruments and equipment.
Requirements
Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations.
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures.
Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred, along with familiarity in pediatric dental care practices.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient rapport.
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including infection control procedures and medical coding.
Excellent communication skills to explain treatment plans clearly and compassionately to patients of all ages.
