Job Summary
We are seeking a Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. In this vital role, you will provide preventive dental care, educate patients on oral health practices, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Your expertise will help ensure patients receive comprehensive, compassionate care in a welcoming environment. Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent decay and gum disease.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Assess patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to monitor overall health status.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary habits, and preventive care strategies tailored to their needs.
Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow and patient comfort.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control measures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations.
Proven experience with dental software platforms such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients preferred.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Familiarity with dental equipment operation, dental x-ray procedures, and medical imaging techniques.
Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration.
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Ability to perform chairside assisting duties efficiently while demonstrating professionalism and compassion.
