Job Description
Full-Time Registered Dental Hygienist at Signal Mountain Family Dentistry
Our small, established private practice on Signal Mountain is seeking a full time Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our friendly team. The workdays are normally Monday–Thursday 8:00 A.M. until 5 P.M., making this an ideal opportunity for someone looking for a consistent schedule, great patients, and a low-stress environment. On the first week of every month, we are closed on Wednesday and work from 8:30 A.M. until 1 P.M. on Friday. We are a small team and rely on each other, so we are looking for someone who is dependable and takes pride in being punctual and prepared each day. Our practice is locally owned and operated by the dentist.
We practice primarily bread-and-butter general dentistry and pride ourselves on providing high-quality care in a relaxed, professional environment.
This position will start on November 2nd, 2026.
Schedule
Monday – Thursday
8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
1-hour lunch break (12:00–1:00)
No evenings or weekends
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive preventive dental hygiene services, including dental prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance.
Perform scaling and root planing as indicated based on patient needs and periodontal health.
Obtain diagnostic dental radiographs, including bitewing and panoramic X-rays, in accordance with clinical protocols and applicable regulations.
Accurately complete periodontal charting, treatment documentation, and clinical notes.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, periodontal health, and preventive care.
Prepare and break down operatories between patients, maintaining a clean, organized, and patient-ready environment.
Properly clean, package, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to infection-control protocols.
Review treatment recommendations with patients and help coordinate their next hygiene or recommended dental appointments.
Communicate effectively with the dentist and dental team regarding patient findings, treatment needs, and follow-up care.
Provide a welcoming, professional, and comfortable experience for every patient while maintaining high standards of clinical care.
Compensation & Benefits
$40-50 per hour depending on experience

Qualifications
Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) in the state of Tennessee
Current CPR/BLS certification
Comfortable with general dentistry procedures
Organized, dependable, and patient-focused
Strong communication skills
We use Oryx cloud based practice management software. Experience with this is not required as we can help train you on it.
