Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing preventive dental services, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and supporting overall patient well-being. Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure and pulse.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) utilizing appropriate dental imaging techniques while ensuring patient safety.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary recommendations to promote optimal oral health.
Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records within electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Adhere strictly to infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to ensure a safe clinical environment.
Manage dental equipment operation and troubleshooting to support smooth clinical workflow.
Support pediatric dentistry cases by providing age-appropriate care and education tailored for children and their families.
Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations related to medical records, medical coding, and confidentiality standards.
Skills
Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures.
Experience with chairside assisting during various dental treatments with excellent patient care skills.
Familiarity with medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and medical imaging techniques relevant to dental practice.
Expertise in infection prevention management, including sterilization processes and infection control best practices.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations while demonstrating client-centered care principles.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance management to protect patient confidentiality at all times.
Experience working in a fast-paced dental office environment with excellent organizational skills.
Understanding of medical records management, documentation review, and medical coding processes within a healthcare setting.
