Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventive dental care, educating patients on oral health, and supporting overall patient comfort. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly, patient-focused environment with a team committed to excellence in dental care. Prior experience with dental office software and a strong understanding of dental procedures are highly valued.
- Currently looking for Monday and Tuesday Coverage
Duties
Perform professional dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Take dental radiographs as needed
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
Assist in patient examinations and recordkeeping using Dentrix or similar dental management software
Provide support during various dental procedures, including orthodontics and pediatrics treatments
Ensure patient comfort and address any concerns or questions during visits
Maintain sterilization protocols and ensure the cleanliness of operatories and equipment
Manage appointment scheduling, recall systems, and patient follow-up communications
Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to patient care
Skills
Proficiency with Dentrix or comparable dental office management software
Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures
Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations
Experience in dental assisting is desirable but not required; training will be provided if necessary
Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Compassionate approach to patient care with strong attention to detail
