Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration to monitor patient health status.
Assist with medical imaging procedures like X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, documenting findings, and updating medical records accurately.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
Support dentists during procedures through chairside assisting, including handing instruments and managing suction.
Maintain strict infection control standards using aseptic techniques and adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
Valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current state certification.
Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and record keeping.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology.
Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred, along with familiarity in general dentistry settings.
Skilled in chairside assisting techniques, including four-handed dentistry for efficiency and comfort.
Ability to perform patient care tasks confidently while demonstrating excellent communication skills.
Prior experience working in dental clinics or offices utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems is highly desirable. Join us in creating healthier smiles every day!
