Dental Hygienist

Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current oral health status
Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) using digital or traditional systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix EMR systems
Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry settings using four-handed dentistry techniques
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
Follow infection control protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
Skills
Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care
Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with pediatric patients (pediatrics)
Skilled in chairside assisting, including handling dental instruments efficiently during procedures
Ability to measure vital signs accurately and recognize abnormal findings for patient assessment
Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes
Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for managing medical records effectively
Excellent communication skills to educate patients clearly about treatment plans and oral health practices
Understanding of HIPAA compliance to safeguard patient confidentiality
Prior experience in dental office or clinic environments demonstrating professionalism and teamwork

Pay: $44.37 - $53.43 per hour
