Job Description

Overview
We are looking for 1-2 enthusiastic registered dental hygienists to join our practice! We are open to either part-time or full-time for the right candidate. Our hygienist of 20+ years just retired and another just had a baby! We are looking to hire 1-2 hygienists that are reliable, diligent, and wants to be a part of the team. The schedule is somewhat flexible and we can be accommodating for the right people! Our hygienists see one column of patients per day, and we have dental assistants and sterilization staff to pitch in and help with perio charting and turning over rooms.

Duties
Perform comprehensive dental hygiene procedures including cleanings, scaling, polishing, periodontal maintenance, and fluoride treatments to maintain patient oral health.

Conduct patient assessments by reviewing and updating medical history, evaluating dental conditions, and presenting findings to the doctor for thorough treatment planning.

Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed.

Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster lifelong healthy habits.

Maintain accurate and detailed dental records.

Follow strict OSHA & infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications
Valid MD state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.

Experience in dental offices, preferably (but not required) with exposure to prosthodontic or periodontic patients.

Proficiency in dental terminology, medical coding, documentation review, and medical records management.

Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix is desirable.

Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a sterile clinical environment.

Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations including pediatrics.

Ability to perform chairside assisting seamlessly while demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail.
