Job Overview
We are looking for a dental hygienist to join our family practice. We are a non-corporate office focusing on patient-centered care and building relationships with our patients.
Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical history and vital signs to ensure safe treatment procedures
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment to ensure a safe environment for all
Requirements
Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state licensing boards
Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry.
Proficiency with dental software. Dentrix experience is a plus
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about their oral health needs
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including infection prevention management and aseptic technique
