Dental Hygienist. Assisted Hygiene

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist specializing in Assisted Hygiene to join our dental team. This role focuses on providing exceptional patient care through thorough periodontal charting, dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, patient education, and excellent record keeping. The ideal candidate will have experience in a dental clinic setting, demonstrate strong communication skills, and be committed to delivering thoughtful, comprehensive periodontal care to adult patients. This position offers an opportunity to work collaboratively with dental assistants and contribute to maintaining optimal oral health and comfort for our patients.

Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis primarily on adult patients, ensuring effective removal of plaque and calculus.

Complete scaling and root planing procedures, supporting the dental team during complex hygiene treatments.

Collaborate with dental assistants who handle X-rays, room turnaround, patient seating, and dismissal to ensure smooth workflow.

Provide thorough patient care by explaining procedures, oral health instructions, and preventive strategies.

Maintain accurate and detailed records of treatments performed, patient interactions, and educational efforts during scheduled work time.

Deliver thoughtful patient education on oral hygiene practices, dietary advice, and overall dental health maintenance.

Ensure compliance with all safety and infection control protocols within the clinic environment.

Qualifications
Valid licensure or certification as a Dental Hygienist.

Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting.

Strong knowledge of dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and coronal polishing procedures.

Excellent detailed thorough periodontal charting.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and reassure patients effectively.

Ability to work efficiently alongside dental assistants, dentists, administration and other team members.

Attention to detail in recordkeeping and documentation of patient care activities.

This position is a paid role suitable for licensed professionals committed to delivering high-quality dental hygiene services within a collaborative team setting.

Pay: $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 9.0 – 40.0 per week
