Job Description
Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a passionate and dedicated Dental Hygienist! In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care while supporting the overall health and well-being of our patients. Your expertise in dental hygiene, combined with your ability to educate and comfort patients, will help foster a positive and healthy environment. We are flexible in hours and days.
Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) ensuring proper technique and safety protocols.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong dental health.
Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
Review documentation, update medical records, and assist in medical coding for billing accuracy.
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for record keeping and documentation review.
Experience in pediatric dentistry or pediatrics is highly preferred to effectively care for young patients.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic technique.
Ability to perform medical assessments including vital signs measurement and basic medical imaging procedures.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and medical records management.
