Job Description
Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care while promoting optimal oral health. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will utilize your expertise to perform thorough dental cleanings, assess patient needs, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Duties
Perform comprehensive dental hygiene services including prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and polishing to maintain and improve patients’ oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
Assist with chairside procedures such as taking dental radiographs (medical imaging) and preparing treatment areas using aseptic techniques.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to empower them in maintaining healthy smiles.
Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of treatments, medical history updates, and procedural notes.
Support infection control protocols and adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and safety.
Collaborate with dentists and other team members in providing pediatric dentistry services and implementing four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient care delivery.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification.
Proven experience in general dentistry or dental clinics, with familiarity in dental terminology and medical coding practices.
Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with medical records management is preferred.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs accurately and communicate effectively.
Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus; comfort in pediatric dentistry settings is highly desirable.
