Job Description
:
The Registered Dental Hygienist at Goshen Medical Center – Our Dental Hygienist is a professional caregiver who provides superior quality dental care while exercising courtesy and professionalism with patients and co-workers. The Registered Dental Hygienist’s primary responsibility is to perform quality and efficient dental hygiene procedures while building and maintaining positive and professional relationships with patients. The Registered Dental Hygienist must possess the ability to assess, perform and reinforce productive preventive dental care of patients and support and reinforce communicated dental treatment needs.
Examples of Job Responsibilities:
• Clean & set up operatory
• Aid in sterilizing dental instruments
• Assess and review patient medical history
• Execute non-surgical periodontal therapy
• Perform routine prophylaxis on children and adults & periodontal evaluations and maintenance
• Procure and process dental x-rays
• Provide education to patients regarding oral hygiene and preventive oral care
Clinical Experience & Skills Requirements:
• Current licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist by the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to multi-task and provide administrative office assistance if necessary (e.g. answer phones, fax documents, call back patients, etc.)
Preferred Clinical Experience & Skills:
• Two to three years Registered Dental Hygienist experience in a dental office setting
• X-ray certified
• Knowledgeable of Eaglesoft Dental Practice Management Software
Physical Requirements:
• Carrying, Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Pushing/Pulling, Seeing, Speaking, Standing, & Walking
