Job Summary
LJ Dental is a fast growing dental clinic in Coconut Creek, and we are seeking a Dental Hygienist.
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist at LJ Dental, where your expertise in oral health care will make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives! Currently we are hiring for one day a week. Day is flexible.
Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration to assess patient health status.
Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow.
Conduct medical imaging procedures like X-rays, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort while adhering to infection control protocols.
Review and update medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
Support infection control standards by practicing aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile environment in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
Document patient assessments, treatment plans, and procedural notes thoroughly for seamless communication among team members.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current credentials to practice legally.
Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings.
Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and documentation review processes.
Skilled in chairside assisting with knowledge of anatomy and dental assisting procedures.
Experience using EMR systems such as Open Dental or Dentrix is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
Ability to perform patient assessment including vital signs and medical history review accurately.
