Job Summary

Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.
Assess patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to monitor overall health status.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
Assist the dentist during procedures through chairside assisting, managing dental instruments and materials efficiently.
Review and update medical records and electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) with accurate documentation of patient care activities.
Maintain infection prevention protocols by adhering to HIPAA regulations, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety.
Support the use of dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, billing, and record management.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and coordinating care plans aligned with general dentistry practices.
Ensure compliance with healthcare infection control standards and maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental office or clinic environment.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Familiarity with dental equipment including X-ray machines, ultrasonic scalers, and other hygiene tools.
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) management systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Experience working with pediatric dentistry is a plus; ability to handle pediatric patients with patience and care.
Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration.
Demonstrated understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare safety standards such as HIPAA compliance.
