Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by performing thorough dental cleanings, assisting with patient assessments, and supporting overall dental health initiatives. Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to promote oral health.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while maintaining strict infection prevention protocols.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies.
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Open Dental with accuracy and confidentiality.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Prepare and sterilize dental equipment, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed to prevent infection.
Maintain detailed documentation of patient interactions, treatment notes, and medical records for legal and clinical purposes.
Support infection control procedures in accordance with healthcare standards to uphold a safe clinical environment.
Experience
Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental clinic or healthcare setting.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Open Dental is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical imaging, and general dentistry procedures.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
Knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control practices.
Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate seamlessly with team members.
