Job Overview
We are looking for a caring, dependable Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental office team. Our practice offers a relaxed, homey atmosphere where patients feel comfortable and team members genuinely support one another.
In this role, you will utilize your expertise to promote oral health, perform thorough dental cleanings, and support our patients through education and compassionate service. Your skills in dental hygiene, patient assessment, and infection control will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel valued and confident in their care. Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Assess patient oral health by conducting thorough examinations and recording findings accurately in EMR.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options to promote lifelong dental health
Take vital signs and assist with dental imaging procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort during treatments
Support chairside assisting during general dentistry procedures by preparing instruments, maintaining aseptic technique, and managing dental supplies
Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with the dental team to develop personalized treatment plans for patients.
Requirements
Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Iowa.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
Ability to perform patient assessments, take medical histories, and monitor vital signs accurately
Ability to administer local anesthetic as it pertains to dental hygiene procedures, along with making intraoral and extraoral radiographic images.
Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
Knowledge of dental coding, documentation review, and understanding of HIPAA compliance is a plus
