Job Description
Dentistry of South Florida is seeking a motivated, compassionate, and dependable Registered Dental Hygienist to join our patient-centered dental team.
We are looking for a hygienist who provides excellent clinical care, communicates well with patients, and understands the importance of periodontal health, patient education, and maintaining a productive hygiene schedule.
Our office offers a competitive base rate together with a performance-based bonus structure. Successful hygienists may significantly increase their total compensation based on production and collections, with the potential for total earnings equivalent to up to $100 per clinical hour for top performers.
Responsibilities
Perform adult and pediatric prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, and other hygiene services within the scope of Florida licensure.
Complete periodontal charting and assist in identifying patients who may require periodontal treatment.
Take high-quality digital radiographs while following proper safety procedures.
Review patients’ medical and dental histories and document relevant updates.
Educate patients about oral hygiene, periodontal health, preventive care, and recommended treatment.
Clearly explain clinical findings and reinforce the dentist’s treatment recommendations.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Follow all infection-control, sterilization, OSHA, and HIPAA requirements.
Help maintain an efficient, productive, and patient-focused hygiene schedule.
Work collaboratively with the doctors, assistants, treatment coordinator, and front-office team.
Deliver a comfortable and positive experience for every patient.
Qualifications
Current Florida Dental Hygienist license in good standing.
Current CPR certification.
Authorized to take dental radiographs in Florida.
Strong clinical and periodontal skills.
Excellent patient communication and education skills.
Comfortable discussing periodontal conditions and recommended treatment.
Familiarity with Dentrix or similar dental practice-management software is preferred.
Dependable, organized, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
Previous experience in a general dental practice is preferred.
Bilingual ability is helpful but not required.
Compensation
Competitive base hourly compensation based on experience.
Performance-based production and collections bonus.
Top-performing hygienists may achieve total compensation equivalent to up to $100 per clinical hour, depending on individual performance and the terms of the bonus program.
Bonus calculations and eligibility will be clearly explained during the interview process.
Schedule
Our office is committed to accommodating patients who need evening and weekend appointments.
The office is open until approximately 8:00 p.m. three days per week.
Saturday appointments are available.
Evening and Saturday availability is strongly preferred.
Priority consideration will be given to candidates who can reliably work later hours and Saturdays.
