Job Overview
Join our close knit dental team as a Dental Hygienist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional oral healthcare and patient education. This position offers the opportunity to work in a patient-centered environment, utilizing your expertise to promote optimal dental health. Responsibilities
Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing (using GPT), to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews.
Take iTero scans and extraoral photographs
Take intra and extra oral dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and safety protocols.
Use lasers for bacterial reduction and periodonal pocket decontimation
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to their needs.
If needed the dentist during procedures with chairside assisting, managing dental instruments, and maintaining a sterile environment.
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) and ensure documentation review for completeness.
Adhere to infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and infection control procedures aligned with healthcare standards.
Skills
Proficiency with dental software for charting, scheduling, documentation, digital radiography and reviewing 3D oral scans.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
Some experience in pediatric dentistry and working with pediatric patients is highly desirable.
Skilled in patient care, client communication, and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures and oral scans efficiently and accurately while ensuring radiation safety standards.
Familiarity with medical imaging techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medical records management.
Knowledge of infection prevention management, healthcare infection control practices, and electronic health records (EHR) management.
