Anesthetize surgery patients (must have local anesthetic certification).
Operate dental equipment and perform dental x-rays with precision while maintaining strict infection prevention protocols.
Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems with Open Dental, ensuring accurate documentation of medical records and treatment notes.
Maintain strict HIPAA compliance by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing sensitive medical information responsibly.
Support infection control practices through aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and adherence to healthcare infection prevention standards.
Collaborate with the dental team on patient care plans, documentation review, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives within the practice.
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental hygiene procedures and local anesthesia.
Proven experience in general dentistry or dental clinic settings.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Open Dental for documentation and workflow management.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
Excellent patient communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively about dental health practices.
Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control measures, including aseptic technique and X-ray safety protocols.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
