Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a comfortable experience for all patients. You will work closely with the dental team to promote oral health and educate patients on proper hygiene practices. A strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control is essential for success in this role.
Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations, including scaling and polishing teeth.
Assess and record vital signs to monitor patient health.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, including proper brushing and flossing techniques.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
Assist in the management of patient records using Open Dental software, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
Collaborate with dentists and other staff members to provide comprehensive patient care.
Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills:
Proficient in vital signs monitoring and patient care techniques.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy relevant to dentistry.
Familiarity with infection control procedures within a dental clinic setting.
Experience with Open Dental software is preferred but not mandatory.
Understanding of medical coding as it relates to dental procedures is a plus.
Previous experience in general dentistry is highly desirable.
