Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history, and reviewing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Assist with dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using appropriate medical imaging equipment while adhering to infection prevention protocols
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring documentation review for completeness and accuracy
Follow strict infection control procedures, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to prevent healthcare-associated infections
Support the dental team with chairside assisting during general dentistry procedures while maintaining a professional demeanor
Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
Review medical coding and documentation for billing accuracy and insurance claims processing
Experience
Proven experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental clinic or healthcare environment
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems: OpenDental
Hands-on experience with dental equipment including X-ray machines, ultrasonic scalers, and sterilization tools
Strong understanding of infection prevention management and healthcare infection control standards
Ability to perform pediatric dentistry procedures and work comfortably with pediatric patients is a plus
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs accurately and provide compassionate service

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
