Job Description
Green River Medical Center (GRMC), a Frontier Federally Qualified Health Center serving rural southeastern Utah, is seeking a Part-Time Dental Hygienist to join our growing dental team. This position primarily works varying Thursdays and Fridays, with scheduling coordinated to align with the part-time dentist schedule.
Our dental program operates in a modern, newer dental suite and is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered oral healthcare to the communities we serve.
Position Summary
The Dental Hygienist provides preventive dental care and oral health education to patients of all ages. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to improving oral health outcomes in a rural healthcare setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform dental hygiene assessments and screenings.
Complete dental cleanings, prophylaxis treatments, scaling, and root planing as appropriate.
Take and interpret dental radiographs in accordance with Utah regulations and clinic protocols.
Document patient findings, treatment provided, and recommendations in the electronic health record.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care, and disease prevention.
Assist in identifying oral health concerns and communicate findings to the dentist.
Maintain infection control standards and ensure proper sterilization of instruments and equipment.
Prepare treatment rooms and maintain dental supplies and equipment.
Support quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction efforts.
Collaborate with dentists, dental assistants, and medical staff to provide integrated patient care.
Qualifications
Current and active Utah Dental Hygienist License required.
Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Strong communication and patient education skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the dental team.
Experience in community health, public health, or FQHC settings is preferred but not required.
Schedule
Part-time position.
Typically works varying Thursdays and Fridays.
Schedule may vary based on dentist availability and patient demand.
Location
This is an on-site position in Green River, Utah. The location is a reasonable commute from both Moab and Price, making it an excellent opportunity for candidates throughout the region.
Pay: $37.00 - $45.00 per hour
