Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral health care! Responsibilities
Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside assisting, including handing instruments and managing dental equipment
Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Open Dental or Dentrix), documenting treatment details thoroughly
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic technique and infection control measures to ensure patient safety
Manage medical records with confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Monitor and operate dental equipment efficiently, ensuring all tools are sterilized and functioning correctly
Support pediatric dentistry procedures when working with young patients in a friendly, approachable manner
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in your region
Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity using Eaglesoft or Dentrix preferred
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health care
Skilled in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting and X-ray procedures
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including aseptic technique and HIPAA compliance
Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration
Ability to review documentation accurately and manage electronic health records efficiently
Experience working with EMR/EHR systems in a fast-paced dental environment is highly desirable
