Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a Part-time Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our dental office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing quality dental care and promoting oral health. We are looking for someone who would be available 2-3 days a week.

Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to ensure safe treatment planning.

Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety standards are met.

Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.

Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency and patient comfort.

Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment, to uphold safety standards.

Monitor and record medical data such as vital signs and medical imaging results as part of comprehensive patient care.

Support the dental team with chairside assisting, including handling dental instruments and managing dental equipment efficiently.

Ensure all documentation review, medical coding, and recordkeeping meet regulatory standards for quality assurance.

Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dentistry setting is preferred.

Familiarity with EHR/EHR systems like Dentrix is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices.

Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with children is a plus.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.

Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety protocols.

Prior experience in dental office or clinic environments that emphasizes patient care excellence and teamwork.
