Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a supportive and friendly environment to children and adults, and patients with special needs. This role involves working closely with patients to educate them about oral health, performing dental cleanings including scaling/root planing, and assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional care. The Dental Hygienist will play a crucial role in maintaining the overall health and well-being of our patients.
Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations on patients, ensuring optimal oral hygiene.
Take X-rays and assist in diagnosing dental conditions.
Record and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Assess patients' vital signs and document findings as part of their medical history.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary choices, and preventive care.
Perform lap to lap prophys on young children and provide support and care in a comforting manner.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless patient care and treatment planning.
Stay current with dental terminology and best practices to enhance patient education and care.
Requirements
Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice.
Local anesthesia license is preferred.
Experience working in a dental office/clinic is preferred.
Experience or interest in pediatric dentistry is preferred.
Knowledge of medical records management and HIPAA compliance.
Ability to assess vital signs accurately.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages.
Commitment to providing compassionate patient care while maintaining professionalism.
