Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team to work with us on Fridays. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of dental hygiene practices. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in promoting oral health, providing preventive care, and supporting the overall well-being of our patients. Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental concerns.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care strategies, and post-treatment instructions.
Apply fluoride treatments or sealants.
Maintain accurate health records.
Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental instruments and equipment.
Monitor and manage dental equipment functionality, ensuring all tools are in optimal condition for safe use.
Collaborate with the dental team to develop personalized treatment plans.
Uphold patient confidentiality at all times while fostering a welcoming environment that encourages open communication.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to perform dental procedures.
Proven experience in general dentistry.
Proficiency in using dental software for documentation and dental records management.
Strong understanding of infection control standards, healthcare regulations (HIPAA), and aseptic techniques.
Excellent patient communication skills with the ability to educate diverse age groups effectively.
Experience with dental x-ray procedures and vital signs monitoring..
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
