Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and dental examinations to identify oral health issues.
Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring comfort and safety for young patients.
Utilize dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix to document treatment plans, medical records, and patient information accurately.
Support chairside assisting during various dental procedures by preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health.
Follow infection control protocols aligned with HIPAA regulations and OSHA standards to ensure a safe clinical environment.
Qualifications
Valid Dental Hygienist license to practice in Massachusetts.
Proven experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred.
Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control procedures.
Ability to perform chairside assisting with competence in medical imaging and vital signs measurement.
Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration.
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and documentation review is a plus.
