Dental Hygienist

Located in downtown Lee’s Summit, our established, busy general practice office has 8 ops, 2 doctors and 3 full-time hygienists plus support staff. We utilize one hygiene assistant. We are hiring a full-time hygienist.

Our schedule is 8-5 Mon-Thurs with an hour lunch, and 8-12 Fridays. Hours are negotiable, however we prefer someone wanting 5 days/week.

We offer our patients the foremost in modern dentistry with prophy jets and ultrasonics in every operatory, and a dedicated hygiene sterilization area. We utilize Eaglesoft dental software. We do not offer health insurance at this time. We do offer a great 401K program with employer match and other benefits.

Responsibilities
Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
Sterilize dental instruments properly
Conduct oral cancer screenings and verify medical history changes
Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries or periodontitis
Clean and help protect patients’ teeth (e.g. remove plaque/apply fluoride)
Perform scaling and root planing procedures
Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques)
Give instructions to patients after dental procedures
Take X-rays and intraoral images
Assist dentists with oral examination
Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
Make next hygiene appointment if needed
Monitor supplies
Skills
Proven experience as Dental Hygienist or similar role
In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
Outstanding communication skills
A patient and friendly personality
Attention to detail
Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
Diploma in Dental Hygiene
Valid license to practice in Missouri
Utilization of nitrous oxide occasionally
Can comfortably administer local anesthetic

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
