Responsibilities
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and documenting findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient experience.
Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with medical coding standards and HIPAA regulations.
Maintain a sterile environment by following strict infection control procedures and managing dental instruments with proper aseptic technique.
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is highly preferred.
Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix is essential for documentation review and patient record management.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is advantageous for caring for young patients effectively.
Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology enhances communication within the team.
Experience in chairside assisting during general dentistry procedures demonstrates versatility and teamwork skills.
