Duties
Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies to promote lifelong dental health
Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and patient comfort
Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft.
Review medical records and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Requirements
Valid Dental Hygienist license with current state licensure in good standing
Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred
Proficiency with dental office software such as Eaglesoft is highly desirable
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and medical terminology necessary for accurate patient assessment and documentation review
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and medical records management
Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $60.00 - $80.00 per hour
